The J Balvin x Air Jordan 1 High finally gets a release Date!

When we first saw the J Balvin x Air Jordan 1 High during the incredibly bowl halftime show performance back in February, we knew pretty much straight away that they were going to be a must-cop. After months and months of waiting though, a release date was still unconfirmed – well, until now that is.

Marking the first time that Jumpman have collaborated with a Latino artist, J Balvin’s AJ1 is unlike anything that we’ve seen before. drawing inspiration from his last two albums, namely 2018’s Vibras and 2020’s Colores, this shoe features a full canvas upper that’s completely done up with a rainbow gradient effect. A jagged trim also features throughout for a somewhat unfinished look, surrounding the toebox, heel, and Nike Swoosh that shoots across the lateral and medial side panels.

Moving down below, you’ll find a pastel pink Air midsole that’s as clean as it gets, and to round off the special Air Jordan 1, Balvin’s famous lightning bolt smiley makes its way to the custom-made insoles and heel in form of a detachable velcro badge. It’s worth noting that this pair comes with several other badge options too so you can mix and match to your heart’s content.

Now for that all-important release date. If you’ve been eyeing up the J Balvin x Nike Air Jordan 1 High, then make sure you mark your calendars as they’re finally launching on December 8th. let us know what you think of this collaboration, and in related news, the Air Jordan 1 retro High OG “Bordeaux” has been unveiled!
