With Chinese new Year just around the corner, adidas Originals has given the desired NMD R1 a Lunar new Year-inspired makeover, and it’s pretty fire. aptly dubbed ‘CNY’, we actually got a sneak peek of this festive shoe early last month!
Featuring a murdered out mesh upper with a complementary Boost midsole to boot, the ‘CNY’ is accented by hits of red at the three stripes and tongue. A premium suede heel badge adorns the back, complete with an embroidered lion head that is painted in a slew of eye-catching colours. Of course, this isn’t a new idea, with this concept being implemented on the Neighborhood x Invincible x adidas Consortium NMD R1, which graced out collections back in December of last year.
Set to release on January 19th, the adidas Originals NMD R1 ‘CNY’ will be available in very limited numbers, so be sure to keep it locked at The Sole vendor for a lot more news as it develops! In related news, adidas Originals recently released its cleanest NMD R1 colourway yet!
